Shravan — Mukhed's most active devotional month
During Shravan, the temple-going rhythm of the town noticeably shifts. Many women in Mukhed observe a Monday vrat through the month, fasting and visiting the town's Shiva temples — Mahadev Mandir chief among them, though in recent years the Mahajan Mala temple has also drawn a steadily growing crowd of women worshippers during this period. Most households give up non-vegetarian food for the month, and it isn't unusual to see people — men included — skip haircuts and shaving until Shravan ends, a small but visible marker of the season across the bazaar and temple lanes.
